Today, marks one year of the marriage to my love, Don (or DJ as I refer to him here). In reality, we've been together for over 5.5 years, but this is our first wedding anniversary! We did fulfill the tradition of eating a piece of our wedding cake today, and it was actually really good! The icing was a little dry, but the cake was still moist and delicious! She made sure that it was prepared correctly. I'd like to once more thank my very good friends, who helped make our day so special. So...
Thank You

and her twin sister, Karen for being two of my bridesmaids. Also to

and

for being there in support! I just wanted to tell you all that I appreciate each and every one of you (even though our schedules and lives conflict with me staying in contact better).
And things have definitely continued to go crazily since a year ago. I've started a new, rather advanced medical career; while my husband lost his job at the jerk-off distribution center two days before Christmas. He now works part-time at a game store in the mall. We're struggling to make it work, because I really don't want him back in the warehouses and he is studying some computer IT stuff to get certified for that field. Also, my husband's car broke down (which turned into a 3-month catastrophe) and had to get a new car. Also, my widower father-in-law suddenly started dating his (now) ex-best friend's (now) ex-wife. And said ex-wife was also my deceased mother-in-law's best friend and co-worker. It's so weird... and neither Don, nor his sister are happy about it. Like I said, it's been a whacked-out year! Never did go on a honeymoon either! Though seriously, I don't care. Despite it all, we're still going strong!
We did have some excitement today! We went out for an hour or two today, and when we came back our smoke/carbon monoxide detector was going off. DJ rushed inside and it was alerting us to carbon monoxide! We opened all the windows, made sure our 6 cats were still alive, then called the fire dept and waited outside. Like we expected, they couldn't find any and thought it was just the detector malfunctioning. What a relief all the same!
Now, I'm off to shower and bed! Gotta go back to work tomorrow after a 4-day weekend. It was fun, including a church yard sale, basket bingo, and one friend coming over for pizza and an impromptu Bleach DVD marathon! The only thing that sucks is I have another outer-ear infection and a rather painful sunburn from the yard sale. Overall, it was a great weekend (didn't have time to work on my fanfic though). I just hope my 15 lbs of lead apron (which I wear against the radiation) doesn't hurt too much on my sunburn tomorrow. *winces* Anyway,
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, DJ! We have many more to come!

I've seen DJ wokring at the mall a couple times. He sure knows his video games, cause he's recommended some good ones that i bought and had a blast with.
Good luck girl on your job. It's nice to hear that your making it pretty good on your job. I need to move on up too.
